PIXELATA is a project designed in 2017 by photoAlquimia design studio and made from cans of recycled drinks, which has toured major cultural, musical and sports events thanks to the European project of environmental awareness of recycling CADA LATA CUENTA.
On Sunday, September 23, 2018, the Challenge-Madrid 2018 triathlon was held throughout the day, ending the competition at Km 0 of the Puerta del Sol in Madrid. Next to the finish area, the space of CADA LATA CUENTA was located, where a PIXELATA was exhibited with an image of a triathlete coming out of the water, made using about 2000 recycled cans. For this occasion, we designed a pixelated graphic composition composed of 27 colors, in order to provide features and volumes that are not easy to achieve, given the pixel size generated by a can of painted drink.
With a system of letters and numbers, each of these 2.000 cans occupies their exact location depending on their color, thus forming an image that can be seen ideally at a certain distance or through the focal length of a mobile. A short distance away, the PIXELATA becomes an excellent background for a photocall.
After its launch in festivals and events such as WOMAD_Cáceres, EtnoSur, Art Banchel, ExpoDepor, Sea Dance Festival, Exit Festival, Revolution Festival Timișoara, Dev9t, Sea Star Festival, Festival 84 y FARCAMA, #PIXELATA continues its unstoppable way!
