PIXELATA is a project designed in 2017 by photoAlquimia design studio and made from cans of recycled drinks, which has toured major cultural, musical and sports events thanks to the European project of environmental awareness of recycling EVERY CAN COUNTS, with which launched an ambitious challenge for the celebration of the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño that was inaugurated on November 26, 2018 in Madrid.
For five days, 20 participants and students from different design schools in Madrid collaborated to create a new PIXELATA whose structure was made using 2,600 recycled cardboard tubes that lodged inside 2,600 recycled and painted cans at its base. The objective of the project was to build the presentation display of the IDB_18 exhibition, located at the entrance of the Central de Diseño / DIMAD in Matadero (Madrid) during the two-month duration of the contest.
